Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Subnet.im, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should discontinue use of the site immediately.
Description of Service
Subnet.im is a free, browser-based IPv4 subnet calculator and CIDR reference tool. No account or registration is required. All subnet calculations are performed client-side in your browser using JavaScript. The application state is encoded in the URL (e.g., subnet.im/10.0.0.0/24), allowing you to share or bookmark any calculation result.
Permitted Use
You may use Subnet.im for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to network planning, education, troubleshooting, professional work, and personal use. Automated access to the site (such as web scraping or bots) should respect our robots.txt file and must not impose unreasonable load on the service.
Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, degrade, or overload the service or its underlying infrastructure
- Probe, scan, or test the service for vulnerabilities without written authorization
- Use the site to facilitate any illegal activity
- Redistribute or rebrand the service as your own without proper attribution and compliance with the open-source license
Accuracy & No Professional Advice
All calculations and reference data on Subnet.im are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy in all subnet calculations, this tool does not constitute professional network engineering advice and should not be treated as such. Always verify critical network configurations independently before deploying changes to production environments. Subnet.im is not responsible for misconfigured networks, service outages, or any other damages resulting from reliance on calculations provided by this tool.
Intellectual Property
The site's source code is available on GitHub and may be used under the terms of its open-source license. The “Subnet.im” name, logo, domain, and associated branding are proprietary and may not be used without permission.
Third-Party Content
Subnet.im displays advertisements via Google AdSense and may contain links to external websites and resources. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or availability of any external sites or resources. Your interactions with third-party services are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any calculations will be perfectly accurate in all edge cases.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Subnet.im, its operator, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the service. This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses. Because Subnet.im is a free service, total liability for any claim is limited to $0.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Subnet.im and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service or your violation of these Terms of Service.
Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Subnet.im after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operator resides, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
